People Loving People

Our goals at Eldon Nazarene have always been centered around others. We put others before ourselves in order to fulfill God’s wishes and enrich the lives of those around us. Having strong family values makes our job easier in that we are always looking for the best in others and try to serve with that in mind.

Patriotic and Powerful

As we move into a new season in our land, we are reminded of the great sacrifices our fore fathers made when establishing this great nation. We wholeheartedly support our leaders as they push forward to make this country a Godly country with true family values. We invite one and all to join with us as we pray for our leadership and for the country as a whole. May God rule and may America remain the leader in freedom and the American way.
Our Pastor has been leading us for 45 years. The people here have so enjoyed this great love, the powerful insight and the amazing wealth of knowledge this wonderful man of God brings to the setting that is Eldon Nazarene. You would be well served visiting and even joining such a viable congregation with a leader for such a time as this.

Our History

It was in the fall of 1920 that a holiness campaign was held in Eldon, MO by the Rev. R.T. Hodges and continued under the messages of Rev. L.W. Dodson, who was the Missouri District Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene at that time. This revival resulted in 18 of the individuals in attendance being led by the Holy Spirit, to join together as charter members to organize the Eldon Church of the Nazarene on October 17, 1920 with Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Medler serving as the first pastors of the congregation.

The town of Eldon had only been in existence for 38 years when the church began,

but with a population of about 2,600 people it was apparent there were souls to

reach and the inspired group wasted no time in seeking a property in which they

could begin their work.

God provided the perfect building they needed, a movie house right downtown on Maple Street. However simple as the building was, it would still need a change of atmosphere from being known as “The Universal Theatre”, to the new church that would now be a refuge for those that were seeking a total transformation through this holiness message.
