Anglican Church of St Hugh Inala and Durack
CAREFORCE Careforce seeks to care for those in need. It is staffed by a team of five volunteers each Tuesday morning within the parish grounds, where we try to help 15 people each week. We are open on Tuesdays from 9am to 11.30am. Please bring proof of identification such as drivers licence, identity card. Assistance with Food Providing we have sufficient supplies, those seeking food receive two to three bags. Please bring your own bags. Assistance with Bill Payment Careforce Inala no longer assist with payment of car related bills. Part-payment of overdue bills is available. Staff assist mainly with electricity and rent and does not include purchase of items such as food vouches or whitegoods. You must bring a paper copy of your bill. Centrelink Income Statements You must bring a paper copy of your recent Centrelink Income Statement for both food and bill payment assistance. Why Does St Hughs Help in this Way? We offer help through Careforce to show God's love. The Old Testament social justice prophet Isaiah 61.1 wrote: “The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; He has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners.” (NRSV) Jesus cites these very words, and fulfils them by his preaching, teaching and healing throughout the Gospels. He expects no less of us.
